Dartmouth Summer Scholars: A new program for rising 10-12th graders

President Beilock has articulated a vision that will expand Dartmouth’s influence worldwide and create more avenues for our students, faculty, staff, and campus community to engage globally. Dartmouth Summer Scholars is one of many initiatives that support this strategic vision and introduce more high school students to what makes our institution unique.

Dartmouth Summer Scholars is a program designed to welcome academically driven high school students from all over the US and the world. The program offers two-week intensive courses that introduce students to topics that are not typically available in high school while giving them a taste of what it’s like to be in a highly engaged Dartmouth classroom. In our first year, this is a residential-only program. The participants will live on campus and experience being part of, and contributing meaningfully to, a residential learning community. You can read more about the creation of Summer Scholars in the February 2024 edition of Speaking of Dartmouth.

While participation in Summer Scholars has no direct impact on Dartmouth admissions, it provides an empowering experience that will help guide participants as they prepare for their next academic journey.

Dartmouth Summer Scholars is now accepting applications for the 2024 program open to rising 10th , 11th , and 12th graders. We will offer a range of intensive courses across three, two-week sessions, and are excited to welcome our first cohort beginning June 30.

If you or someone you know has a high school student looking to make the most of their summer and experience Dartmouth for themselves, they can find more information about how to apply at sites.dartmouth.edu/summerscholars.
